CONCEPT
Doomsayers predict that sometime in the (hopefully) far distant future, a catastrophe of apocalyptic proportions could wipe away much of the populace and life as we know it. It is extremely likely too, as mankind, unlike any other species, is the only one that is destroying the only home he has even as he revels in its bounty.
In the dystopian future that I have conjured, mankind is forced to live on floating habitats, after having destroyed his planet. Built largely using salvaged materials, these are kept afloat using technology and manual labour. Though only a fraction of the population has survived, I project that vestiges of present-day systems and structures will seep into the lives of our descendants.
